LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) – A former UCLA associate athletic director pleaded not guilty Friday to keeping child pornography on his work-issued laptop computer.

Michael Sondheimer, 58, is charged with one felony count of possession of matter depicting a minor engaging in sexual conduct, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

A criminal complaint alleges that the material was found in April of 2013.

In July, CBS2’s David Goldstein reported Sondheimer resigned amid allegations that he engaged in sexual chats with children online.

Sondheimer was arrested Feb. 27 of this year and released the next day, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

If convicted, Sondheimer faces up to three years in state prison.

He is due back in court on May 8.
