Man, 25, Arrested For Child Annoyance In Irvine

IRVINE (CBSLA.com) A 25-year-old man was in custody Wednesday for child annoyance in Orange County.

Joseph Anguiano was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly approaching a 12-year-old girl who was walking in the Woodbridge area of Irvine, police said.

Anguiano then reportedly asked the girl her age and for directions to a nearby elementary school. The girl responded with incorrect information as she was taught to do by police officers during presentations at school.

"When she pointed the wrong direction regarding the location of the elementary school, Anguiano corrected her, indicating he already knew the correct direction," Irvine police said.

And undercover detective, who had been surveying the suspect, approached on foot and Anguiano walked away. Search warrants were issued for his residence and vehicle as he is being investigated as a possible suspect in prior incidents dating back to Nov. 2013.
