Rialto Man Fatally Shot At San Bernardino House Party
SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — Police say a 27-year-old man was killed in a shooting at a house party in San Bernardino.
The victim, identified by police as Deandre Williams of Rialto, sustained multiple gunshots to his upper torso in the Sunday morning shooting.
The gunfire was reported about 1:20 a.m. outside the home in the 5500 block of North Osborne Court.
San Bernardino police said Williams was found on the ground near the driveway of the home.
Williams died at the scene. Police believe Williams was the intended target but have no idea why.
At the time of the shooting, police say there were about 100 people at the home.
KCAL9’s Cristy Fajardo spoke to neighbors who said loud and raucous parties at the location were nothing unusual. But none of them imagine there would be the sound of gunfire.
“I know this is a party house and things happen in this neighborhood, but a shooting? I would never have imagined,” said Jeff Langyel, a neighbor.
Nadia Gill, who lives next door to the home where the shooting took place was also stunned.
“I heard the shots, I looked out the window and heard someone say ‘He’s going to die, and call 911,'” Gill said.
A motive for the shooting was not known and police have little to go on.
But Fajardo said they got a big break because part of the crime was caught on surveillance video. You see flashes from the gun, people running away in panic.
Fajardo asked a resident of the home how Williams ended up there and he said he did not know.
Police said they don’t know if their shooter was a guest of the party or came there specifically looking for Williams.
Officials are hoping someone of the witnesses who ran will come forward and give a grieving family some closure.
