Young Boy Shot As Unintended Target Of Gang Violence

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) —  A young child, believed to be a boy between 8 and 10 years of age, was shot Saturday in gang crossfire.

The unintended victim was shot in the shoulder, said authorities.

The unidentified child  is expected to fully recover.

The shooting occurred before 7 p.m. near Imperial Highway and Avalon Boulevard, police said.

According to police, the child was playing in the street when gang members drove up and opened fire.
