Dirt Biker Returns Home After Disappearing Near Valencia
UPDATE (7:24 a.m.): Missing biker Antonio Marquez safely returned to his home in Valencia Monday morning.
VALENCIA (CBSLA.com) — A search was underway Wednesday for a missing dirt biker in San Francisquito Canyon near Valencia.
Antonio Marquez, 54, last talked to his daughter around 6:30 p.m Tuesday, saying he was on a tough road, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said. His family reported him missing at 10:30 p.m. when he didn't answer his phone.
The Valencia resident was riding a 2004 Honda Dual Sport Motorcycle in the Rower Flats portion of the Canyon.
About two dozen searchers on ATVs, dirt bikes and on foot were covering a large area spanning from Sierra Highway to San Francisquito Canyon Road. A helicopter was also being used.
"We have lots of trails that people like to go dirt biking on, some of the trails can be advanced," Deputy Joshua Dubin said.
