Dodgers Prospect Zach Lee To Start For Dodgers vs Team Australia

SYDNEY (AP) -- Right-hander Zach Lee, who is 1-0 in one start with a 5.79 ERA in two games in spring training, will be the starting pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday against Team Australia in the first exhibition baseball game at the revamped Sydney Cricket Ground.

One of the top Dodgers prospects, the 22-year-old Lee won the team's minor league pitcher of the year award in 2013.

Ryan Searle, 24, and signed as a 17-year-old in the Chicago Cubs organization, will start for Australia.

Arizona Diamondbacks reliever and Sydney-born Ryan Rowland-Smith is expected to pitch later for Australia on Thursday, then for the Diamondbacks on Friday against Australia in a second exhibition game.

The Diamondbacks and Dodgers open the MLB regular season with games on Saturday and Sunday.
