2 Injured After Bus Drives Through Crossfire In South LA

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Two passengers on a DASH bus suffered injuries Wednesday when the vehicle was hit by crossfire during a gang shooting.

KCAL9's Juan Fernandez reports a 10-year-old boy and a woman in her 30s appear to have suffered graze wounds when gunfire erupted at 42nd Street and Avalon Boulevard at approximately 6:40 p.m.

A bullet hole could be seen in the windshield of the bus when SKY9 was overhead. It's unclear if the victims were injured by glass or bullet fragments.

Both victims were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No suspects were in custody at press time.

The investigation is ongoing.
