Missing Elderly Couple Found Safe In Long Beach

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A missing elderly couple was found safe Tuesday night in Long Beach. They were taken to a hospital to be checked on and appear to be well, officials said.

Angeles Alamario Alora, 94, and Lina Alora, 85, were last seen Monday at their residence in the 600 block of South Bronson Avenue in Hancock Park.

Family members were very concerned about the couple because both are in need of medical care. Lina suffers from dementia, and Alamario suffers from diabetes, in addition to other conditions.

"We're very close," son Zaldy Alora said. "I wasn't able to sleep last night."

Angeles Alora is described as a Filipino man with brown eyes. He is bald, 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs roughly 150 pounds, and utilizes a walker. He was last seen wearing a green shirt and beige pants.

Lina Alora was described as a Filipino woman with black hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighs around 140 pounds.

"I'm nervous and this is the first time it has happened, and it has already been 24 hours they've been missing," daughter Erlinda Alora said. "They have to take medications every day, and today they didn't take any medication, so I'm very worried. Please help us because we love our parents."

The Aloras immigrated from the Philippines 23 years ago, and had 12 children.

"In this case obviously they need medical attention," LAPD officer Nuria Vanegas said. "So we'll make them a 'critical' missing."

LAPD officials have not yet declared a Silver Alert, which is similar to an Amber Alert for elderly citizens.

According to Erlinda, neither of her parents drive, and it was likely they didn't have money on them.
