ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) – The Cal State Northridge Matadors are one win away to advancing to the NCAA tournament after defeating Long Beach State 82-77.

Stephan Hicks had 27 points and Josh Greene added 21 to help Reggie Theus’ team advance to the Big West finals against Cal Poly San Luis Obispo on Saturday night at the Honda Center in Anaheim.

Theus, who is in his first year with the team, could lead the Matadors back into the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2009, where they lost to second-ranked Memphis.

The Big West final will begin at 7:30PM and will be televised on ESPN 2.
