5 Freeway Reopened After Crash Involving Milk Tanker Shuts Down All Lanes

CASTAIC (CBSLA.com) — All northbound lanes of the Golden State (5) Freeway in Castaic were closed early Wednesday morning after an empty milk tanker truck spilled fuel and oil onto the roadway following a collision.

The crash happened at about 4:45 a.m., north of Lake Hughes Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Traffic was snarled all the way to the San Joaquin Valley.

One northbound lane was reopened about 45 minutes later, but the other lanes remained closed while crews worked to clean the roadway, the CHP said.

No injuries were reported. All lanes were reopened just after 10 a.m.
