COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives Sunday were continuing to investigate the shooting death of a man in Compton.

The victim, described as a 24-year-old Hispanic man, was found in the 1000 block of South Willowbrook Avenue about 9:31 p.m. Saturday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department said in a written statement that the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Several witnesses stated they heard multiple gunshots and saw two male black suspects running south on Willowbrook Avenue,” the statement said.

Anyone with more information about this case was asked to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
