Mom Of Allegedly Wandering Toddlers Charged With Child Abuse

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The mother of two toddlers who were allegedly found wandering filthy and alone in South Los Angeles has pleaded not guilty to child abuse and other charges.

City News Service says 32-year-old Sidnicka Wilson entered the plea Friday. Other charges filed against her include possession of a controlled substance and giving false information to a police officer.

Wilson, 32, was arrested Wednesday, two days after her two sons, one about 18 months old and the other about 3 years old, were allegedly spotted near the family's apartment.

Police allege that the older boy was known to walk to a nearby liquor store to get bread to feed himself and his brother.

The children are now in county custody.
