Long Beach Police Hunt Suspects Who Beat Woman, 19, For Her Cell Phone
LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Long Beach Police are on the hunt for two men they say beat a woman Monday night for her cell phone.
The attack reportedly occurred just before midnight on Monday in the 2000 block of Beverly Plaza.
Police said the two men approached the 19-year-old victim who was walking through the complex while talking on her phone.
A man initiated a conversation with her when she said another man came up and started hitting her.
The two men knocked the woman out and stole her phone.
Authorities said the suspects are both in their early 20s. They had both been spotted by people in the area prior to the attack.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of "significant" injuries to her face.
