WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Officials said a West Hollywood skin care specialist wanted to hire a former NFL player to act as a hitman to get rid of a business rival.
Dawn DaLuise, who owns Skin Refinery (8543 Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood), was arrested Wednesday.
The NFL player was identified in the complaint against DaLuise as Christopher Geile, formerly with the Detroit Lions.
Geile lives in San Bernardino. CBS2’s Crystal Cruz went knocking on a door where Geile reportedly lives.
He opened his front door and said, “I have no comment.”
After being asked if he was hired by Dawn, Cruz said the door was slammed in her face.
Geile has not been charged or arrested.
Cruz also reported, “Christopher Geile wanted nothing to do with our camera when asked about a recent accusation that a Hollywood esthetician tried hiring him to kill her competitor.”
She did speak to Collin Geile, Christopher’s 18-year-old son.
“He’s a great person, honestly,” Christopher said about his father, “I really don’t believe anything that person says.”
Geile’s son confirmed to Cruz that his father knew DaLuise but says he doesn’t have any idea how his father’s name got tangled up in a murder-for-hire plot.
“We’re honestly shocked about what she said today because none of it’s true,” said Geile, “He never ever said anything like that to any sorts.”
DaLuise was in court Friday, facing a solicitation of murder charge after detectives working a cyber stalking case got some information on social media about the alleged scheme.
Gabriel Suarez, is the named victim in the case. His beauty shop, Smooth Cheeks, is a few doors down from DaLauise’s business.
Suarez said he didn’t know DaLuise.
Cruz asked Geile, “Has your dad ever talked about killing anyone before?”
“No, no, no, no, no, I mean my dad would never do that. We’re always doing charity work and we’re always trying to help people that’s just how he raised me to be,” said Collin.
Collin says his dad has been out of work for awhile and has always lived by the motto “treat others the way you want to be treated.”
Colin says his dad first heard about the accusations Friday morning.
“He was on the verge of tears when he first saw it,” said Collin.
DaLuise meanwhile is being held on $1 million bail.
