13 Injured In Collision Involving Metro Blue Line Train, Vehicle

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — More than a dozen people were injured in a collision involving a Metro Blue Line train and a vehicle Tuesday morning.

The accident took place shortly before 10 a.m. at 328 E. Washington Blvd. near Maple Avenue, LAFD officials said.

Twelve of the victims — two in serious condition, 10 in fair condition — were transported to a local hospital, while one person declined transportation, according to authorities.

The Blue Line was delayed at least 30 minutes and the Expo Line experienced about 10 minute delays due to the accident, according to Metro officials.

The cause of the accident was unknown.

No further details were released.
