5th Grade Teacher Accused Of Having Sexual Relationship With Ex-Student

MONTEREY PARK (CBSLA.com) — A fifth grade teacher who works for the Alhambra Unified School District was arrested for sexually abusing a former student.

Jeffrey Yoshitake, 42, was taken into custody Friday and charged with one felony count of lewd acts with a minor. He's being held on $100,000 bail.

Yoshitake allegedly had an inappropriate relationship with the alleged female victim, who was a former math student, for approximately seven years, starting from the time she was 15.

Investigators believe the incident is isolated.
