LAPD Seeks Public's Help In Finding Missing Teen

PACOIMA (CBSLA.com) — Police Wednesday sought the public's help in finding a missing 13-year-old boy.

Juan Miranda was last seen around 5:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 13100 block of Paxton Street in Pacoima, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

"The missing juvenile is despondent over the recent death of his grandfather and became involved in a verbal argument with his mother," officials said.

The boy's mother fears the teen will harm himself.

Miranda, a male Hispanic, has black hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 140 pounds and has a scar on his right palm.

The eighth-grader was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black shorts and a gray baseball hat, police said.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact the LAPD's Foothill Division at (818)756-8861.
