1 Dead, 1 Injured In Santa Barbara Head-On Crash

SANTA BARBARA (CBSLA.com) — One person was killed and another injured in a head-on crash Wednesday afternoon in Santa Barbara.

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to the crash scene just before 2:40 p.m.

The accident -- involving a mid-sized sedan and an SUV -- occurred on Highway 154, about one-quarter mile north of San Antonio Creek Road.

SBCFD was assisted by the CHP, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's and American Medical Response.

The deceased was declared dead at the scene. Another person was treated for what was described as minor injuries.

Highway 154 was slick due to rain at the time of the accident. The road was closed in both directions.

The exact cause of the crash is under investigation by the CHP.
