Sandy Koufax Gets Nailed By An Ethier Foul Ball

GLENDALE, Ariz. (CBSLA.com/AP) -- Los Angeles Dodgers great Sandy Koufax was hit by a foul ball off the bat of Andre Ethier during batting practice.Koufax was standing in the bullpen down the third base line when he was hit Friday.

The 78-year-old was struck on the forehead, but told reporters as he walked off the field that he was fine.

"I'm fine," Koufax said MLB.com "It's more of a bruise it feels more like a whiplash than anything. It's not even sore to the touch. I'm a little surprised."

As precautionary, Koufax went through a full CT scan to make sure there wasn't any internal bleeding.  Thankfully, results came negative.

Koufax  is in camp in Arizona as a special adviser to the chairman of the Dodgers.
