LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Power is out in an area of Lake Balboa after wires were downed Wednesday evening while wind whipped through the Valley.

Residents in the neighborhood are enduring a blackout after the lines went down on the corner of White Oak Avenue and Vanowen Street.

LADWP believes heavy winds could be a factor.

A traffic collision occurred on Linley Avenue and Vanowen Street shortly after several blocks fell into darkness. There are no signals at the intersection.

Victims in the crash sustained minor injuries.

City Fire is on the scene.

Edison is working to restore power.

It’s unclear how many residents are affected.
