Major Gas Leak Stinks Up Traffic In Anaheim

"A subcontractor was working on the street on northbound Tustin from the 91 Freeway in the right-turn lane. During the construction, a main gas line was punctured…a four-inch gas line," Anaheim police Lt. Tim Schmidt said.

All lanes were blocked on Tustin from the 91 to La Palma until 4 p.m.  The northbound off-ramp of the roadway at Tustin was also shut down, Schmidt said.

The Anaheim Fire Department and the Southern California Gas Company were on the scene to take care of the leak, which was under control by 3:30 p.m.

Four businesses took shelter in place during the rupture.
