SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A 63-year-old man was stabbed to death near his South Los Angeles home on Valentine’s Day.

A passerby saw Samuel Benton lying on the sidewalk in the 1500 block of East 112th Street at 7 p.m. Friday, police said.

Benton was suffering from stab wounds and was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

No suspect was seen leaving the location of the crime.
