Coroner Identifies 6 Victims In Diamond Bar Wrong-Way Crash

DIAMOND BAR (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles County Coroner Monday identified the six victims killed in a wrong-way crash in Diamond Bar over the weekend.

The crash victims are identified as:

  • Kristin Melissa Young, 21, of Chino
  • Maya Louise Culbreath, 24, of Rialto
  • Gregorio Mejia-Martinez, 47, of Huntington Park
  • Leticia Ibarra, 42, of Huntington Park
  • Jessica Jasmine Mejia, 20, of Huntington Park
  • Ester Delgado, of Huntington Park

The accident happened on the westbound Pomona Freeway at 4:50 a.m. Sunday, the California Highway Patrol said.

The suspected wrong-way driver, identified as Olivia Carolee Culbreath of Fontana, was behind the wheel of a red Chevy Camaro when she reportedly crashed into a 1998 Ford Explorer, which was then hit by a 2006 Ford Freestyle.

Four victims were pronounced dead at the scene and two others were transported to a local hospital where they died.

Culbreath, whose younger sister Maya was killed in the crash, sustained a broken femur and ruptured bladder. She was hospitalized at County USC in stable condition and faces charges of felony DUI and manslaughter.

Joel Cortez, 57, the driver of the Ford Freestyle, suffered minor injuries.
