Funtarov's 3-pointer In OT Helps Davis Edge CS-Northridge

 DAVIS, Calif. (AP) -- Georgi Funtarov hit a 3-pointer with 7.2 seconds left in overtime to break a tie and lead UC Davis to a 90-86 win over Cal State Northridge on Thursday night.

Funtarov's 3 came after Stephan Hicks tied the game for Cal State Northridge at 86-86 on a dunk with 25 seconds left. Northridge had a chance to force double overtime but missed a 3-pointer in the waning seconds.

UC Davis (8-15, 3-5 Big West Conference) led 70-54 with less than 6 1/2 minutes left in regulation but Northridge (11-13, 3-6) got a layup from Tre Hale-Edmerson with 39 seconds left, forced a turnover and tied the game at 81-81 on a 3 by Josh Green with 22 seconds remaining to force overtime.

Corey Hawkins led UC Davis with 27 points while Ryan Sypkens added 16 and Funtarov had 15.

Hicks scored 23 for Northridge and Stephen Maxwell had 21.
