Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Feb. 5)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Look for more clearing skies Wednesday. However, even with the sunshine, temps will still be running below average for this time of year topping out in the low to mid 60s.

Late Wednesday a surface low moves across the area bringing with it the threat of some showers.  The rain will start along the central coast late Wednesday and early Thursday morning hours. It doesn't hit the LA area until mid-day or afternoon.

This isn't a big rain maker at all — anywhere between a trace of rain to .25 inch at the very high side. Foothill communities in the San Gabriel valley will see those higher totals, while the high desert and inland areas will probably be on the lower side.  Snow levels start out at resort levels and will dip down to 5000 feet. This isn't a major snow maker either, however the resorts will take anything it can get.

Things will dry out on Friday and the weekend looks nice with some warmer temperatures.

Basin - low to mid 60s

Beaches - low 60s

Valleys - low 60s

Mountains - low 40s

Deserts - upper 50s
