Man, 35, Arrested After Woman's Body Found On Road In Upscale OC Neighborhood

YORBA LINDA (CBSLA.com) — A 35-year-old Yorba Linda man was arrested Tuesday after a woman's body was found on a road in an upscale Orange County neighborhood.

Investigators have not yet released the name of the suspect, who was detained around 2 p.m., or the identity of the victim.

"The reason we're not releasing his name at this point is that the investigation is on-going and we have witnesses we'd like to speak with, we still have some identification issues we'd like to deal with before we release his name," Lt. Jeff Hallock of the Orange County Sheriff's Department said.

The victim, who is believed to be in her 20s, was discovered by a cyclist at 5:40 a.m. near Deodar Drive and Live Oak Lane in Yorba Linda.

"We don't know what exactly occurred. If it occurred here…and the body was left here or, in fact, something happened at a different location and it was dumped," Hallock said.

Officials believe this was an isolated incident with no threat to the community.

"Sheriff's homicide investigators are on scene sifting through evidence they have located here, and based on the information that they have, they believe there is no specific threat to the community and that this victim was the intended target," Hallock said.
