PALMS (CBSLA.com) — A driver and patient were trapped Sunday evening after a car crashed into a convalescent home in Palms.

The accident occurred in the 3500 block of Overland Avenue, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

LAFD personnel got a call about 10:30 p.m. saying a car had backed up into the building and through a bedroom, according to Kevin Takumi in Sky2.

Officials said the car landed over a bed, trapping an elderly female patient.

Authorities also said the Jaws of Life were needed to free the driver.

Both people were transported to a local hospital as a precaution. No injuries were reported.

Police said the accident was due to slick roads. No arrests were made.
