TWC Outage Fumbles Super Bowl Viewing Parties Across LA

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Time Warner Cable outage inevitably ruined many Super Bowl viewing parties in Southern California Sunday evening.

The cable company reported on Twitter that it was working to fix the issue with the KTTV feed that was keeping some customers from viewing the game.

Viewers from LA to Ventura County reported that the non-high definition FOX channel froze shortly after 3 p.m. during a Volkswagon commercial.

TWC insisted customers could still watch the game on the HD FOX channel.

The service interruption ended around 5:50 p.m.

"We have resolved a technical issue with the SD signal and apologize for the inconvenience to our customers. There were no issues with the HD
signal," TWC spokesman Dennis Johnson said via email.
