Firefighters Extinguish Electrical Fire At Hollywood Strip Mall

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters narrowly escaped injury early Sunday morning while battling a strip mall fire in Hollywood.

Flames broke out around 3:30 a.m. at a herbs and vitamin store on Santa Monica Boulevard.

At one point, the front of the building collapsed but firefighters managed to get out of the way.

It took crews about 20 minutes to extinguish the blaze.

Investigators say the electrical fire started in a utility room.

No further information was available.
