PACOIMA (CBSLA.com) — A suspect reportedly driving a stolen vehicle led police on a high-speed pursuit Thursday night on the streets of Pacoima.

Around 6 p.m., officers tried to initiate a traffic stop after spotting a man driving a black pickup truck that had been reported stolen, according to an emergency dispatcher.

The driver sped off, racing down surface streets until he collided with a moving car around 6:20 p.m. The collision set sparks flying out from under the truck and the driver eventually pulled over in a residential area.

He was arrested without incident.

A passenger, who appeared to be a woman in a sparkly hat, was also taken into police custody.

No further details have been released.
