NEW YORK (CBSLA.com) — Legendary folk singer Peter Seeger has died at the age of 94.
Seeger’s grandson said he died Monday at a hospital in New York.
His career spanned more than 100 albums and included songs such as “If I Had A Hammer,” “Goodnight, Irene” and “Where Have All The Flowers Gone.”
Seeger used his music to help push for social change, singing for the labor movement in the 50s and later, anti-Vietnam rallies.
His song “We Shall Overcome” became an anthem for the civil rights movement.
