Toddler Held Hostage By Armed Suspect In Compton

COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say an armed suspect held a toddler hostage and fired at deputies in Compton Thursday evening.

Deputies were called to the scene at 126th Street and Mona Boulevard around 11:00 p.m.

SKY2 reports someone within a house in the area grabbed the child, who was taken away from harm.

Deputies shot the suspect, who was taken to a local hospital. His condition was not known at press time.

The child is okay.
