SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — A suspect wanted for attempting to run over a deputy has been taken into custody following a high-speed chase Tuesday.
SKY2 reports a male was handcuffed by police in the Highland area at approximately 5:30 p.m.
The suspect, driving a white pick-up truck, had led police on a chase at over 100mph on the southbound 215 before the vehicle was hit by a spike strip, knocking out tires on its left side.
Sparks could be seen flying from the vehicle as the driver attempted to accelerate while patrol cars barricaded him in a residential neighborhood, where the suspect was stopped and handcuffed.
The suspect’s name has not yet been released.
