PALMDALE (CBSLA.com) — Sheriff’s officials Monday were investigating a hit-and-run accident that left a man in critical condition.

Deputies responded to a report of a man bleeding and unconscious, who was lying in the road on East Avenue R in Palmdale, around 8:20 p.m. Sunday.

Officials said the man was trying to cross the street when he was hit by an unknown vehicle.

“A passerby in a vehicle found the pedestrian lying in the street and alerted authorities,” authorities said.

The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Anyone with information should contact the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station at (661) 272-2400.
