McNealy Scores 22 To Lead UC Irvine Over Cal State Fullerton

IRVINE, Calif. (AP) -- Chris McNealy scored 22 points Thursday night as UC Irvine rolled over Cal State-Fullerton 72-54 for its third straight Big West Conference win.

Will Davis II scored 11 points, Mamadou Ndiaye scored 10 and grabbed nine rebounds, and the Anteaters (12-7, 3-0) outshot the Titans 50 percent to 36 percent. Alex Young had nine assists.

Cal State Fullerton rallied to a 15-13 first-half lead on a layup by Marquis Horne, but Young put UC Irvine back in front 17-15 with a layup and the Anteaters pulled away on a 14-2 run to lead 37-21 at halftime. McNealy scored 16 points in the half and the Titans shot just 30 percent from the field.

The Anteaters answered the Titans basket for basket in the second half, then ripped a 12-2 run to lead by 23 with 3:46 to play.

Michael Williams led the Titans with 18 and Alex Harris added 12.
