OC Homeowner Arrested After Minors Allegedly Found Drinking Alcohol

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO (CBSLA.com) — An Orange County man faced misdemeanor obstruction and other charges Monday after police responded to a party at his home, authorities said.

Ross Pake, 53, was arrested following a large law enforcement response to his home in the 31000 block of Peppertree Bend in San Juan Capistrano on Jan. 11, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

At approximately 9:20 p.m., deputies were called to the residence for a reported loud party, at which time Pake agreed to turn his music down, authorities said.

About two hours later, deputies came back after receiving a 911 call from a partygoer who reported numerous disturbances at the house, according to the sheriff's department.

As deputies arrived, they encountered more than 100 young adults and teenagers "yelling obscenities at deputies and throwing bottles at sheriff's vehicles," authorities said.

Approximately 30 additional units responded to calls for assistance from deputies, who later arrested Pake on suspicion of obstructing/delaying an officer and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

After the party dispersed, 11 minors were detained at the scene, some of whom had been drinking alcohol, authorities said. The juveniles were later released to supervising adults.

Investigators said they are reviewing video to identify any additional suspects or crimes that may have occurred.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Orange County Sheriff's Department at (949)425-1900.
