Defense Attorney Dies In Single-Car Wreck In Torrance

TORRANCE (AP) — A Southern California criminal defense attorney has died in a single-car collision in Torrance.

Lt. Fred Corral says 50-year-old Jay Martin Glaser was killed in the collision on the 300 block of Palos Verdes Boulevard that occurred early Saturday.

Torrance police said officers responded at about 2:43 a.m. and found a 2011 Audi R8 on its side against an embankment. Glaser, a resident of Rolling Hills Estates, was the only occupant. He was extricated from the car by firefighters, but had died of his injuries.

Police said the car was traveling southbound on Palos Verdes Boulevard when it collided with the curb for an unknown reason and flew off the road.

Glaser was a defense attorney at the Long Beach-based firm Glaser, Damone & Schroeder. The incident is under investigation.
