ARTESIA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities said six people were rushed to a hospital following a fire at an assisted living home in Artesia Saturday morning.

Firefighters were sent to 17724 Gridley Avenue about 7:28 a.m. and had the fire out in ten minutes, according to a LA County Fire Department dispatcher.

Authorities told CBS2/KCAL9 that nine patients were evaluated with six (four males, two females) being taken to the hospital. Two of the six were reportedly treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation.

A cause of the fire is under investigation.
