Man Fatally Stabs Ex-Wife, 6-Year-Old Daughter In San Bernardino

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — Officials Wednesday were investigating the fatal stabbing of a woman and her 6-year-old daughter in the Inland Empire.

Police were called at 5:53 a.m. to the house in the 300 block of W 29th Street where they found the bodies of 51-year-old Miraflor Sartorio and Jira Sartorio.

Authorities say Jordon Sartorio, Miraflor's ex-husband who still lived with her, called police and reported the crime after attempting to slit his own wrists, according to Lt. Paul Williams.

"He did call us. He indicated that his ex-wife and his daughter were stabbed and he was injured as well," he said.

He was arrested and transported to a local hospital where he was in stable condition and scheduled to undergo surgery.

Erika Hernandez lived at the home and said there were no signs of trouble.

"I don't know what happened," she said. "When me opened my eyes because police were in my room I said, 'What happened?'"

There was no history of domestic violence at the home prior to the incident, police said.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information was asked to contact Det. Steve Turner at (909)384-5647.
