Thousands Flock To Downtown For LA's New Year's Eve Bash

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — For the first-time, downtown Los Angeles is hosting a huge, New Year's Eve bash in the city's newly dedicated Grand Park.

Organizers expect about 15,000 revelers to flock to the park, located on North Grand Avenue between the music center and City Hall, for the bash.

The free event began at 6 p.m. Tuesday and featured an art installation, food trucks, as well as, an interactive photo booth.

"I think it's actually just being part of the community. Like being with all these other people from the area and they've set up everything so beautifully," said Jessica Hsian, one reveler.

Said Mike Garabedian, another, "I generally hate New Year's Eve … like it's my least favorite holiday … and I feel like this Grand Park event is a lot lower pressure and lower expectations than is generally the case. I'm just looking forward to a relaxing, fun New Year's Eve here."
