Sketch Of Marina Del Rey Shooter Released

MARINA DEL REY (CBSLA.com) — A composite sketch was released Tuesday of a man police say fatally shot a security guard working at an upscale apartment complex in Marina del Rey.

The man is wanted in the murder of Patrick Odoikyene, 47, who was found shot to death early Monday morning. Odoikyene was employed as a uniformed private security officer at Shores Apartment Complex, 4201 Via Marina Drive.

Investigators say they don't know if Odoikyene was shot because of his patrolling duties, but that they believe he was the intended victim. Police say Odoikyene has no known prior criminal record.

The suspect was seen running from the complex toward Dell Alley and the 3400 block of Via Dolce Street following the shooting.

Police say the suspect was described as a black man in his late 30s to mid-40s, wearing a long-sleeved pullover black or blue hooded sweatshirt with white logo lettering on the front and back and black pants.

Anyone with information about the crime or the suspect can contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
