Arrest Made In Connection With Fatal Hit-And-Run In Rosemead

ROSEMEAD (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say an arrest has been made in connection with a deadly hit-and-run collision in the city of Rosemead.

Janet Bowman reportedly walked into the Temple Sheriff's station on Monday morning and turned herself in to traffic investigators, authorities said.

The 32-year-old was allegedly behind-the-wheel of a 2007 Nissan Murano that fatally struck Qingrong Chai at the intersection of Greendale Avenue and Marshall Street on Dec. 30.

Chai would have celebrated her 70th birthday next month.

Bowman, who was released after posting a $50,000 bond, is expected to appear in court in February.
