'Late Night' Host Fallon, 'Kimye' Top Most, Least Desirable Neighbors List

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — It turns out living next to a celebrity may not be as desirable as most Americans think.

KNX 1070's Margaret Carrero reports a survey from online housing marketplace Zillow found "Late Night" TV host Jimmy Fallon and celebrity couple Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are the most and least desirable celebrity neighbors, respectively.

Perhaps the most intriguing finding from the 7th Annual Celebrity Index was that over one-third of Americans surveyed would prefer not to have any celebrity live next door, down 45 percent from 2012 and marking the largest drop in the survey's seven-year history.

Fallon, who was earlier this year named the successor to Jay Leno as host of the coveted "Tonight Show" and headlined a successful comedy tour, was most popular among young adults surveyed (14 percent) and slightly more popular among females (12 percent) compared with males (10 percent), according to Zillow.

Amy Bohutinsky, Chief Marketing Officer for Zillow, told KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO the findings were not entirely surprising.

"He's likable and funny and down-to-earth and overwhelmingly Americans said this is the person I would most want to live next door to," Bohutinsky said.

After Fallon, celebrities topping the "most desirable neighbors" list included actors Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, Jennifer Lawrence, Sofia Vergara, and Miami Heat superstar LeBron James, who also managed to rank near the top of the "least desirable neighbors" list.

However, Bohutinsky said the prospect of constant paparazzi activity around their residence made West and Kardashian - who earlier this year purchased a 9,000-square-foot home in Bel Air - and similar high-profile celebs too much of a nuisance for 25 percent of all Americans surveyed.

"Reality show stars tend to top the 'least desirable' list," she said. "Americans have said loud and clear, we like to watch these reality shows, we like to stand back and see what's happening, but we don't want these people to share a back fence with us."

The prospect of sharing real estate with the rich and famous did little to sell at least one Southland woman on the idea.

"It's like they got 99 problems and we don't have none," she said. "What about the economy? What about the homeless? What about the hungry? What about my kids?"

Among other "least desirable" celebrities were the cast of "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo", Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, and Lady Gaga.
