GARDEN GROVE (CBSLA.com) — Police say a 51-year-old man and his 39-year-old wife were found shot to death inside their Garden Grove home Thursday.

Police officers were dispatched at 4:16 a.m. to a home in the 15000 block of Sail Avenue after receiving a “911 hang-up call,” Garden Grove police Lt. Jeff Nightengale said.

A relative of the couple called back on the department’s non-emergency line and told dispatchers the man may have shot his wife, then himself, Nightengale said.

Investigators responding to the scene say a 51-year-old Vietnamese man shot his 39-year-old Vietnamese wife before turning the gun on himself, he said.

Family members told investigators that the couple was having marital problems and were discussing divorce.

The couple have two children, a 4-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl, but it wasn’t immediately clear if the children were in the home at the time of the shooting, Nightengale said.
