Banks, Post Offices Closed For Christmas, Transportation Schedules Adjusted

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Those hoping to mail some last-minute gifts Wednesday will have to wait until Dec. 26 since every post office will be closed in observance of Christmas Day, as well as all government offices, courts, schools, libraries and banks.

There will be no trash collection in Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Bureau of Sanitation. Trash collection will pick up again Thursday.

Metro buses and rail lines will operate on a Sunday schedule.

Specific schedules for bus lines can be found on Metro's website at www.metro.net. Normal operations will resume Thursday.

Metrolink will only provide service on the Antelope Valley and San Bernardino lines, which will both run on Sunday schedules.

The following Foothill Transit lines will operate on their weekend schedules: 178, 185, 187, 195, 197, 269, 272, 274, 280, 281, 282, 284, 285, 286, 289, 291, 480, 482, 486, 488, 492 and the Silver Streak. No other Foothill Transit lines will be in operation.
