Traffic At A Standstill In SoCal On Christmas Eve

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Traffic in the Southland was at a standstill Tuesday night due to the holidays.

The California Highway Patrol says Dec. 24 is one of the busiest travel days.

"This is due to people not just doing some last-minute shopping, but also traveling to visit family and friends," CHP's Vince Ramirez said.

Silvia Ceastanda says she's traveling from Corona to Santa Barbara with two small children. She says they sing along to Christmas music to make the time go by faster.

"It's kind of a bummer, but I'm trying to get there as soon as possible for dinner," she said.

Jan Collins says she's just happy to be in Los Angeles in time for Christmas.

"I think it's been a long day, so we're probably feeling tired and hungry, but we're glad to be here. We love the warm weather because it's 30 degrees at home, so it's much nicer here," she said.
