Torrance Police Hope Release Of Surveillance Video Will Lead To Arrest Of Stabbing Suspect

TORRANCE (CBSLA.com) — Torrance Police are hoping the release of store surveillance video will lead them to a suspect in the stabbing and armed robbery of a woman last month.

The incident occurred at Yum Yum Donuts in the 17000 block of Prairie on November 27.

Police said the suspect entered the business with a cutting instrument, physically attacked an employee and forced her into a back room.

Once cornered, they said the suspect also stabbed the woman multiple times.

The suspect fled with cash stolen from the store's register.

Paramedics treated the victim at the scene but transported her to a hospital where her condition was stablilized.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 30-40 years old, 6 feet tall with a thin build.

When last seen, the suspect was wearing an orange, short sleeved button-down shirt, khaki pants, a dark blue baseball cap and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the Torrance Police Detective Division at (310) 618-5571.
