Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Dec. 17)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Expect another nice day Tuesday, with temperatures running well above seasonal averages. There won't be mid to upper 80s temperatures like Monday, but it will be nice nonetheless.

A healthy dose of high clouds should move through the area as a wave of energy rotates through this afternoon. Look for highs in the upper 70s.

Wednesday there will be a transition to more of an on-shore flow with a mix of clouds and sunshine. Temperatures will drop back down to the upper 60s, which is where we should be for this time of year.

A low pressure center is still slated to move through the area on Thursday, however, the forecast models are mixed. Three are trending relatively dry, while a third one brings a little more rain. This system, like the ones that have already passed through this winter, will be iffy. The difference in a hundred miles could mean the difference between higher rainfall totals and no rain at all. Whatever the result, this won't be a major rain maker.

Even on the high side, don't expect more than a quarter of an inch in most spots. Plan on light scattered showers on Thursday right now. Definitely colder temperatures, topping out in the upper 50s and low 60s. Snow levels will be rather low as well. There could be some flurries down to 3,500 feet. Weather should rebound back on Friday with temperatures warming slightly into the weekend with plenty of sunshine.

Basin - upper 70s to low 80s

Beaches - upper 70s

Valleys - low 80s

Mountains - low 60s

Deserts - upper 60s
