WESTCHESTER (CBSLA.com) — Monday, Dec. 16, is expected to be the busiest mailing day of the year for the United States Postal Service.
The USPS expects to help more than six million customers nationwide, with another six million doing their shopping and shipping online.
Postal officials recommend that customers use usps.com to avoid crowds by buying and printing postage online and scheduling package pick-ups.
“Make sure you have a sturdy enough container,” spokesman Richard Maher recommended. “You also want to make sure that your gift is cushioned, especially if it’s fragile.”
