Man, Teen Girl Killed In 2-Vehicle Crash In Placentia

PLACENTIA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say two people were killed in an overnight crash in Placentia.

The accident at the intersection of Orangethorpe Avenue and Rose Drive was reported at 2:07 a.m. Sunday.

When officers arrived on scene, they located an 18-year-old female passenger deceased in a Mitsubishi Lancer.

Police said the 22-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi was extricated from the vehicle but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators have since learned that the Mitsubishi was traveling at a high rate of speed when it entered an intersection, failed to stop for a red light, and collided with a GMC box truck.

According to police, the driver of the box truck was not injured.
